Hiking Ragged Mountain in Southington CT

Took a Hike on Ragged Mountain today with Carlos,  this was a difficult and dangerous hike and I would only recommend it to experienced Hikers.  The entire hike was 6 miles round trip and took us about 4 hrs. We did stop and rest and eat so it was not all hiking..  There are the GPS stats below which is missing about 30 min of hiking and 1 mile because I paused my GPS and forgot to restart it, I hate when I do that…  There are also some pictures and a link with some more information about Ragged Mountain…. All total we climbed 1180 feet And descended 1232 feet the Max Pos. Gradient was 12.5% and the Max neg. gradient was -15.9% …. This is the total sum of all the ups and downs we did and not the total altitude of the Mt.  that was a little over 700 feet… According to the Myfitness app. on my iPhone hiking for 4 hrs with a 10 lb pack will burn 3284 calories.. WOW no wonder people hiking the Appalachian trail come out skinny on the end.  4 or 5 months of hiking would make anybody skinny… By the way I use the MotionX app for the iPhone for my GPS. It is the best GPS I have ever used and only cost 99 cents….
