Hiking Beseck Mt. 8-5-13

Hiked Beseck Mt. off of Rt 66 near Guida’s today with Maggie and Duke.  This trail is very cliffy and dangerous if you are not careful.  If you are afraid of heights this hike is not for you .  You will find yourself walking along the edge of a 600 foot cliff and some times only a couple of feet from the edge.  The view is awesome and very beautiful.  I saw and filmed an Osprey souring over Black pond looking for something to eat, a  beautiful bird indeed.  This hike was not difficult.  I would rate it moderate and  about 2 ½ miles long.  The Mattabassett trail goes through to Rt 68 and if you have 2 cars you can park one on Rt 68 near the rail road tracks.  A through hike would be about 5 miles total and would be the way to go if you have 2 cars..  There are some pictures of my hike below, the GPS stats, and a link to a video of this hike which includes footage of the Osprey.
