Trail Maintenance with CFPA

Today, July 28, 2016,  I was one of the volunteers to do trail maintenance on the Eagle Beak Section of the Mattabesett trail. The full length of the trail is 4.8 miles round trip and my team did the full length.  On the trail we climbed a total of 1400 feet and descended the same..  There were 13 of us all together and we did quite a bit of maintenance including brush removal and blue blaze painting. I Got to meet some great people and looking forward to volunteering again in the future..   My foot held up good so we will see, maybe I can keep the screw in there  and not have it remove. It was broken last year in May, stopped me from hike until now so we will see..

Hiking Bear Hill Loop

Today July 24th 2016 we hike Bear Hill Loop, Myself and a group of people from my church ( Hike N Praise)  We had 13 of us all together including children. It was hot but not too bad of a hike..  Everybody had a lot of fun and can wait until we do it again..  We did 2 miles and climbed 1100 feet and descended the same..  I was a little concerned about my foot which I broke last year which still has a screw in it but the pain was OK I can live with it for now.. This was my first group lead hike since I broke my foot with Hike N Praise.  We will be doing Bear Mt in Salisbury in early September,  will access the trail from Washington Rd on the west side of the Mt. This is easier that the Under-mountain trail on the East side…
